DiaboloDepot.com Taps Niche Market from Son's Interest

November 18, 2009 - KIRKLAND, WA --  Adam Lamb, age 10, announced today the Grand Opening of  www.DiaboloDepot.com.   The eCommerce and fan destination website features videos of beginner, advanced and master diabolo tricks, and also offers the highest quality Sundia Shining Series triple bearing diabolos and composite carbon hand sticks.

The diabolo is a modern variant of the Chinese Yo Yo, a circus trick device popularized hundreds of years ago.   Today diabolos are made of durable plastic cones jointed by a bearing and manipulated with strings.  Some of the more coveted types are triple bearing designs that allow the juggler to develop rapid spin speeds and enable a broad variety of diabolo tricks.  Experienced diabolists can perform tricks juggling two, three and more diabolos.

Lamb is a fourth grade student at Carl Sandburg Elementary School where physical education teacher Andy Sandbo introduced diabolo to the kids. Adam took that interest home to his father who tried to buy a diabolo on the web and found that the best models were rarely in stock at domestic distributors and twice he had to order from a shop in England. Thinking there had to be a better way to find high-quality diabolos in Seattle and beyond, the father-son team set out to launch the new website.

"At first it was just about the videos," said Adam who appears in his own video on the site.   "Then we received our first shipment and it was exciting to photograph them for the website."  Not only does DiaboloDepot.com give Adam a great place to showcase his inventory to his schoolyard buddies, the site has attracted customers from California to New Jersey.

Meanwhile, Adam is focused on mastering new tricks. "There are a lot of great diabolo jugglers at our school, so its tough to be the best," he said.  "But I can do a suicide grenade with one diabolo and a fan sprinker with two," he added, referring to two popular diabolo tricks.
